The target:





My brother shouts, "Shoot!", and a second later he fires the pellet gun, blowing the hapless beer bottle into countless tiny shards. Meanwhile, my FZ30 is firing away in a high speed burst from a safe distance.

Shutter priority mode is the mode of choice here. Set to 1/800th of a second it manages to capture a single frame of the rapidly expanding cloud of burgundy tinted debris.

The result:





Perhaps that was a little over dramatized. I think it's kinda cool though.
