Interesting results, Purry, as I'm taking my FZ30 to the Fairford Air Tattoo this year and was wondering what settings to use. Also, I'll try out the Kwik Aim red dot sight I've just bought.

Fortunately, with your excellent photos it's possible to view the exposure data as the EXIF information is still there. With post processing, it's usually gone of course.

I was thinking of using shutter priority at 1/1000 if possible. I hope I get the sky you had, and if my results come out as well as yours, I'll be well pleased.

Thanks guys!

Peter, what exactly is that Kwi Aim red dot sight you mentioned?

Here's a few more pictures I took Saturday.

Purry

The Kwik Aim red dot sight has been mentioned frequently on this message board in other threads. It is a device for inserting into the hot shoe, so as to enable an object such as a bird or plane to be tracked accurately when the EVF blanks out between successive exposures with the FZ cameras. It is basically a rifle/pistol sighting device adapted for use in the camera's hot shoe.

I got mine from this seller (Mike Bernard in Texas, USA) [email protected] and they are available on eBay at http://tinyurl.com/lv59v

Wow, that looks like a great item. Wish I had one of those last Saturday. Great that it also allows you to have maximum zoom and still easily find your target. I'm going to get one as well. :-)

Thanks very much Peter! Hope you havea clear sky during the Fairford Air Tattoo. Impressive line-up there.
