Thanks Macnite and Telecorder for reviewing and commenting. Yes, I forgot to mention these were handheld. I had several others where I had to chase him around the fence. But these were a few of the best ones. I ordered a DCR 150 this morning. Hope this will help some in getting better closeups.

Telecorder - when they're flashing their red throat sack, I think they're more interested in a little lizard hanky-panky than dinner.

Thanks very much Jim. Starting to loosen up the trigge finger as you advised and also using burst mode to catch what I can. It is unbelievable what I delete that is out of focuc, to far to make out, to dark, to bright. I have so much to learn. Maybe I should stay with a point and shoot, but just like my horses, I don't want to give up yet.

Thanks, Jerry

Ahhh, come on Jerry, Ya got free film w/the digi... its called the delete button...

BIF images usually are much harder and, as a consequence, have a low number of 'keepers' but burst mode does allow for catching a few good ones now and then... Just remember to have a critical eye when viewing and, after a while, you'll get to where your threshold of keep/delete will have a higher bar...
