My FZ5 was powered down and when I pushedthe shutter button to get it going againI got a message saying the lens hood is on. The lens mechanism is stuck in the open position.Has anyone else had this problem? It is under warranty and will be sent to the engineers of the large electrical chain of shops where I bought it, but if they are unable to do anything it will be returned to Panasonic for their repair or possible replacement. I will be without the camera for a minimum of 28 days, possibly a lot more. Thanks for any information.

This has been reported before perhaps 3 or 4 times. Try gentlly pushing the lens housing in to get it back on track.

Thanks for the reply I tried that before I posted the message but it wouldn't budge. I put a drift onto the rim of the lens and pushed with reasonable force and nothing happened.
