Was snapping some pictures of this dragonfly today but didn't notice his injury until I dumped them to the PC.

I have to wonder how bad this effects his vision.

Stupendous macro.

I saw this one with ripped wings and I shot withFZ20 12x no add lens. Before I started to mount any lens it was (rather efficaciously) flying away

I wonder if these types of injuries are from predators, mating rituals, or maybe just poor flying skills.

Thanks for the compliment!

I have these injuries before. There are some shots somewhere on my harddisc......

The skills of dragonflies are just perfect, but sometimes our windows are not visible to them. But a hungry bird could do the same in the early morning. Lateron these hovercrafts are too fast.

Nice shot,
Sven

Hi,

I got these 2 guys at my pond.

The left one died in this position, because the rightlarva

wrapped its feet around the other.

Its not nice, but its nature.

( I could do nothing, when I saw this)

greetings

Klaus
