Hi, I took this photo on auto bracketing (so have better exposed versions) i like how the over exposure simplifies the colours. Any thoughts?



I think the fz30 over saturation of reds and blues works well in this case

Sorry, i guess you do need the other shot.



Looking now there is less difference - i think it was more apparent at night on the monitor.

It could just be my monitor [I'm at work now ;-)] but I prefer the second one. The blue in the building looks a little more saturated than it does in the first one. I think the boat looks a little richer too.

If you were trying for a more muted effect, you'd probably need to desaturate the photo rather than underexposing. That way you can control the intensity of the colors.

thanks - i hadnt thought of undersaturating the colours to get the washed out "tired" look
