d-sr, I'm curious did you use a tripod at all? Those shots look too sharp to be handheld at 2 sec shutter..... even with OIS.Great job though. :-)

I used a tripod and remote shutter. I could not have gotten those without either. I believe the remote was just as important as the tripod. All I had to do was aim and anticipate when the fireworks would go off after starting up. Doing that I got 178 kepers out of 257 shots. Was very happy for my first try. Have a look at my other shots if you would like.

Nice Zoto gallery Don!

I like these fireworks. I tried to shoot fireworks onboard a ship - no way, too much movement....

Thanks Sven, I'm still learning but getting better. This forum pushes me to better photos. I still can't achieve that perfect focus though. Most of my shots, like everyone elses is hand heldbut not as sharp as I see on this forum everyday.

Great shots! Tripod was used for sure and it was 2.5s from exif info. I was going to buy that camera(FZ20?) but was short on $$.

Thanks for looking. If you get a chance buy one. Prices are dropping since the FZ30 came out. I got mine in ebay for $225.00 including shipping. I love it and can't imagine upgrading for a long time. To me, all the new cameras are doing is in camera processing. I had rather have the detail and process in the computer. The longer I use it the less processing I do.
