This is a purple flower, I have no idea what type it is, anyone know?

The image is spoilt somewhat by the busy background, and the dead flower head on the left will always ruin a shot.

To balance DaveMcgees comment...

the colors are very nicely saturated and the picture is exposed quite well. Nice shot of a columbine. I never knew what one looked like until now. Thanks for sharing it. :-) Also, thank you rebelpcb for that bit of info.

Thanks for the information, that it is a Columbine. I also agree the background is too busy. As for the deadheads, I havent quit figured out how to avoid them, short of just plucking them off, but............. since the shot was taken at a public garden, I wasnt sure if that would be ok.
