Aside from the awful noise, it's anice picture. Did you run it through any noise reduction software? I ran it through Neat Image once and got this. Still not great, but better....

Well I ran it once through AbsoluteDenoiser (mac) but I obviously got the settings wrong. Doesn't look that bad on my CRT monitor though.

Thanks for your help.

Just downloaded Neat Image Demo, I'll give it a try.

Did you let the camera pick ISO? Was it 1600?

The FZ-30 only goes up to ISO 400.

Can you tell us how you took the photo and perhaps is it a 100% crop?......it does seem soft or out of focus and too much noise.

If its a 100% crop, that would explain .....

Or if it was underexposed and then lightened.

Both actually. I only got a 2 min opportunity to shoot while on a business trip. I didn't do great on the pp though...
