12 x18 inch FZ30 photo (1st test)

This Photo I re-sized for the web.

This is the original

This is after I worked on it and doubled the Resolution in Magic Focus.(using interpolation techniques). It still need a little work but I did this as a test. I sent it to my partner in our poster company and he said it prints just fine on the thin photo paper we use. I used what they call the hard technique so now I am going to test it using the normal technique. So far it looks to us like you can get a good print 12x18 with the FZ30. As soon as we get done with this 12x18 test we are going to try larger.

Roger,

given that the FZ30 is an 8mp camera, you should have no trouble at all making perfect 12x18 prints on any good photo printer.this shot of a Great Blue Heron eating a fish was taken with my Canon, also 8mp, and it printed at that size absolutely fine with no interpolation or resizingwhatsoever...

Now that is one beautiful photo.

Many of the photos I want to use the part I want is only 30% to 40% of the photo so we are talking about a lot of cropping. The one I used for my first test turned out Ok so now I am going to find another that needs more crop and make it a larger size. The first test is making me believe maybe this is possible. As far as 12 x 18 my partner is telling me the print is just fine and for me to pick out another that needs more cropping and make the end product 20x30.

Thanks to you all I really feel good about this project now. I think I am getting closer.
