Hi Bayourebel,

This guy really is a horse! Saddle up! Gosh, they are so big you could almost fake a macro with these guys and get great details. Tell everyone it was just a little guy. haha:lol:jk

We have similar grasshoppers here in FL but they are orange and yellow. I think we call them Lubber Grasshoppers.

Teree and Annie, thank you both for viewing and commenting. These things are plentiful around here this time of year. They eat a lot of the foliage and love to eat the Iris stalks.
