I bought the FZ20 a couple of months ago (could not pass on the price) and I'm experiencing the same exact problem...NOISE. Lots of it, even at ISO 80. This camera needs a lot (and I mean LOT) of light to produce decent pictures. Ah, let's not forget...lots of light cause another problem....purple fringe. We can't win (as long as we stick to it). I am frustrated and disappointed to say the least. I've take some good pictures with it but the great majority goes to the trash bin. Fortunately, I have my H1 to rescue me!!!

The use of the work LUCK says it all. With the FZ20, good quality imagesis a matter of luck!

The P mode shot does not look much better either. With the FZ20 you MUST master in PS and NeatImage or most ofyour pictures will never look thatgood. I noticed a few things regarding the P mode shot.

1. Flash fired. Sometimes that can skew some settings and results are unpredictable
2. f2.8 with speed 1/100 is not a good combination
3. You've set the camera both Sharpness and Saturation to HIGH. I set both to either standard or low as they seem to produce better results.
