This picture is unremarkable ... but I was trying all day to capture the flight of some waterfowl using the panning mode...how did I do. I did cropto fill the frame more and some photoshop. Thanks, Donna

Donna, you said it was unremarkable but I disagree. It is a good capture for a starter.

Pity the bird isn't flying into the picture rather than out but panning is difficult with a non-slr.

I agree Fred, I hate that he is leaving the picture rather than entering. But I go to the refuge about once a week, so I will keep trying. Donna

Thanks guys. I just used the panning mode pressing the shutter button while I panned. I wish a had also used the burst mode. I took alot of pictures with just sky...missed the the bird altogether. Donna

Looks like a Great Egret to me. I love these birds!

This is a great shot for starting out. I've failed at most attempts at birds in flight so far.

Keep 'em coming!

Thanks Mark. I plan on visiting the wildlife refuge again very soon, and will have another go at it. Donna

D.Ann, where are you from?

I live just down the road from a refuge that has many of these birds, only I can never get close enough to the egrets.

Only the Great Blue Herons trust me!
