I finally had time to break out my RDS and start getting acquainted with it. I used it the first time at the air showin May but have not used it since. It's amazing how much this one tool helps out. I caught a group of buzzardsa couple of hours after sunrise ridingthe up drafts.I'm pretty happy with what I got butcould just about shoot my self for not centering the first one better. As always with me, these are the best of a ho' bunch of bad ones. Cropped, resized, sharpened and selective NR has been done on all three . Hope you enjoy. C& C welcome.

Don

A fine job, Don.

.....and much better than my BIFs up to now.

The RDS is excellent, but I need more practice.

My objects were closer and I used the wrong zoom settings.

My next RDS test is challenging: dragonflies at 40cm.

I know this can be done. I expect one decent shot out of 400 ;-)

Don

Thanks for posting the BIF"s as theyre always very tough to shoot. Glad to see that the RDS makes it a lot easier to capture the pics.

Cheers

Hello d-sr,

Great series of photos

Can you please tell what RDS is?

And, how it improves shooting birds in flight?

Thanks in advance, d-sr.

Hi Don, looks like you are on your way to nailing this...just shows even buzzards are majestic in flight. Donna

I use the Kwik Aim. Their website has answers to your questions. You can see it at http://www.kwikaim.com

Oops! I forgot to mention that RDS means Red Dot Sight.

Thanks for looking and the comments everybody. I got sick the morning after posting this and have not been back at my computer until now. The RDS stands for Red Dot Sight and I use a Leapers SCP-RD40RGW. I got it because it's a little larger and easier for me to sight through plus it has attached lens caps that help keep it clean. I love it.

Don
