Thanks Billy.

Pretty good pricing. Be nice for those m4/3 wannabes that prefer an EVF all the time and the slr styling.

Yeah, I think Olympus set the stage for more affordable m43 models with the E-PL1, and Panasonic is following suit. Let's hope this trend continues.

I'm looking forward to getting these two in for sure.

Here in Japan, it's the opposite.....

The price structure of Olympus is more expensive than Panasonic.

For example, cheapest prices in Japan(in equivalent USD):

Olympus E-PL1:
Body: $600
With pancake: -
With kit zoom: $620
2 lens kit: $760

Olympus E-P1:
Body: $665
With pancake: $765
With kit zoom: $710
2 lens kit: -

Olympus E-P2:
Body: $950
With pancake: $1000
With kit zoom: $955
2 lens kit: -

Panasonic G2:
Body: $725
With pancake:
With kit zoom: $815
2 lens kit: $1085

Panasonic GH1:
Body: $735
With pancake:
With kit zoom: $815 (14-45mm)
With 14-140mm lens kit: $1035

Panasonic GF1:
Body: $515
With pancake: $635
With kit zoom: $675
2 lens kit:

Panasonic G1:
Body: $365
With pancake:
With kit zoom: $415
2 lens kit: $700

If you equate the Panasonic GF1 to the Olympus E-P1 or E-P2, then it's quite a bit cheaper than the E-P1 and a lot cheaper than the E-P2.

Both the Panasonic G2 & the GH1 are way cheaper than the E-P2, and th older G1 is dirt cheap!!!!

Price structure wise, the low end E-PL1 & G10 could be compared but there are no prices for out in the market G10 yet.

With kit zoom: $560
With 2 lens kit: $820

I bought a G2 with the 14-42mm & 45-200mm lens kit for the equivalent of $740 USD (in Japan) today.

It's dropped a lot in just a few weeks. I'd say it looks like the price will start heading back up soon. It's Japanese "bonus" month, and I think plenty of people have been spending money on the G2. The single lens kit hit a low of around $490 USD last week, but it's now in short supply and has gone back up to $585.

Looks like the twin lens kit will do something similar in the next week or so!!

G2 with the 14-42mm & 45-200mm lens kit available for the equivalent of $690 USD (in Japan) today. (in spite of the fact that the USD has dropped against the Yen.)

The problem (just for the moment) is that the G2 bought in Japan, has Japanese only menu.
This may change if the hacker known as tester13 hacks the G2 firmware, just as he's done with the G1, GH1 & GF1.
