Default Lens Samples: Panasonic 14-140 f/4-5.8 HD OIS

Continuing my sample images thread, I thought I'd better add the GH1 kit lens to the collection! Although already posted elsewhere, I'll start off with these - hopefully someone will find them useful.

As ever, C&C are welcome, as are your own samples with this lens. The more the merrier :-)

Note to mods... this is the first time I've linked to photos in my new Flickr account. If I'm out of line, please let me know!!

Mr Macmusic, I'm not seeing a link to your flickr account. I'd like to. What is your member name?

Default The 14-140 shines in the forest...

I must say the GH1 with 14-140 kit lens really shone on our recent holiday to Center Parcs (Whinfell, Cumbria), and I'm really happy with all our family memory shots and videos.

We've been to Whinfell too many times over the years to mention, and compared to previous trips where I've had my Canon EOS 400d and 40d, I was really impressed with the flexibility and performance of the GH1.

I didn't get much "me time" to be creative, but I did get some nice shots that I wanted to share here.... hope you like them! As ever C&C welcome.

There are some other shots and alternative angles over on my Flickr if you want to check them out too

Red squirrel enjoying brunch...

Sunlight playing on the ferns...

Sunset over the lake
...a bit of flare (no hood), but not too distracting and easily cloned out if required

Waterfall feature
...hand held at 1/10s to blur the water motion

Busy Bee
...not bad close up for the kit lens I thought

Standing Squirrel
...I think this is my personal favourite!

I'm drooling here...I love that second shot (the sunset is also very nice but the second deserves a large print and framing). Well done!

Thanks Tullio - glad you enjoyed these

Great minds think alike.... I took a landscape "sunlit ferns" shot from a slightly different angle - click here to view - and I've been thinking about getting a canvas printed of one of these two shots (or possibly even a square crop of the landscape one). Decisions, decisions!!

Default Birds at the Wheel...

I took my GH1 kit on our family trip to the iconic Falkirk Wheel yesterday, and managed to get some unexpected shots due to a surprise, but very welcome, photo opportunity!

The first is my own 'record shot' of the day, which I thought benefited from the mono treatment, and the others should speak for themselves

The above photos link back to larger sizes on Flickr, and there are some others in my Flickr stream if you are interested

All excellent, as always! I really like the 4th shot (the bird looks like some sort of an Eagle).
