Default Lens experiment (GF1)

Just wanted to show the range of the 70-300mm Oly lens I use with the GF1.

#1 Very up-close

#2 or very far, this hawk was at least 250 feet away (80m)

Both using a tripod, no other lens attachment. I'm particularly surprised with the far zoom. Both cropped and resized.

Thank you both! For the long zoom, I tried both straight 300mm and EZ mode (makes it 600mm I think) and found that 300mm enlarged looked much better.

I have a Manfrotto 701, Mini Fluid Head. I know it's an overkill for a camera, but my husband wanted to be able to use it to shoot video. My Tripod is a Manfrotto 732CY. I paid the extra money for carbon fiber for the weight. The total unit (head and tripod) is less than 4 lb. If I had gotten anything heavy, I knew it would just sit in my car. Yeah, I'm spoiled...
