Two pictures with same pol filter (for $ 4.99 incl. shipping) - of course pol filters for $80-$120 are muuuuuch better, 99x better! (haha)

Today arrived my MeiKe ring flash / ring light from China - 9 days Hongkong-Europe, $ 34.48 = € 24.46 incl. shipping.
I've ordered for Canon, but as ring light it is usable for EACH camera, as flash light you must order with right socket.
32 LEDs (5500K) you can regulate in 7 steps, also select left side or right side. Included are 7 adapter rings - screw on it and clip on ring light.

These are some test pictures with my G3 + (Canon)MeiKe ring light in total darkness - ring flash would not be usable.
Natural colors with 32 daylight LEDs (5500K), not blueish, unnatural colors like with old (12-LED) lights.

I used +10 macro lens, a cheap, bad lens, macro lens (Tamron 60/2) is of course 100x better.

Default G3 and Sony HX100V

Hi DonalDuc,

I posted this in the Sony forum as well but I expect you'll see this first. I've seen your excellent photos with both these cameras. I too have a G3 with 14-42 and 100-300, but am considering a HX100V as well, for various reasons. Could you tell me what you like most about each camera, compared to the other?

Thanks,
Sean

Hmmm, hmmm, I have a lot of cameras - one better than the other

No, they are ALL excellent ... Canon, Lumix, NEX, NX ... with 10.000 lenses . Each lens fits each camera. This is possible with cheap Chinese adapters. They are worth 10x their price.

HX100 (and TX7/TX9/TX100) also are good cameras, but for other purposes. HX100 is very good (except the missing thread ) and is a total-in-one ...30x zoom, viewer, tiltable display, fullHD movie with 50p/60p. With best stabilizer I ever had/saw.

If I want carry like a donkey, I use my DSLRs, with less weight I use my Lumix(es) or NEX, for all-complete-with-one-camera I use HX100 - and always I have a TX with me.

Photos are always okay - it's irrelevant which camera I use.
