Thanks, Bob. It was just the kit lens, because that's all I have at the moment.

Due to having a mangled broken finger that isn't going to get any better, I decided to sell my Canon 30D and macro lens a few weeks ago to fund the buying of the G3. Photography isn't much fun if you find yourself reaching for the paikillers after an outing, but I wasn't satisfied just using a compact, so a compromise had to be found and I'm hoping this Pany will fit the bill.

Lovely photos. Excellent sharpness, colour and contrast from the kit lens.

Sorry to hear about your broken finger. I hope you are wrong and that it
does get better.

Thank you for the nice comments.

I'm afraid that after two ops on the finger it is as good as it's going to get and the surgeon has warned me the joint will become arthritic sooner rather than later.

Thank you, Jeff, I feel the colours recorded by the G3 are very true to life.

These are absolutely beautiful; the colors are so vivid, but realistic! This is one camera I'm considering; so I'm very glad you posted these!

Thank you, Carol. If you're considering the G3, you might find it worth checking out the in-depth review here.

...hi mono,

Sorry to hear about the finger, I asked of the lens because I have an Oly E-P3 with just the 14-42 m43 lens for micro but I use my 43 lenses with the E-P3, particularly the Oly ZD 70-300 and get good results with it. The monarch butterflies here have been spectacular the past few weeks.

I see a giant swallowtail above and what I believe is a buckeye, I don't know the last two. What I do know & like is that the color and composition are very good, well done.
