Default Donal....a GH4 question...

Do you use the GH4 in manual exposure mode at all?

When I use the GX7, Panasonic crippled it in manual mode to where, once the shutter speed gets above 1/1000 second the histogram and live preview stop working, giving you no visual indication in the EVF or back LCD of how any exposure combination exposes the scene until after you shoot and review. The histogram and live preview in my Olympus E-M1 EVF works with no limitation all the way to the 1/8000 second maximum shutter speed and I would assume the GH4 does the same. In the other GX7 traditional exposure modes (P, A and S) there is no such limitation, just in manual mode.

For a camera like the GX7 with seemingly every feature one could think of, Panasonic limiting it in the way it does in manual mode is just weird, and I use the f2.8 zooms, often not stopping down below f4, so outside it does not take long before shutter speeds start topping 1/1000 second, even using an ISO as low as 125.

I use Aperture or Shutter Mode when shooting Stills
and Movie Mode for Videos.
All of these allow some automatic settings.

Yeah, I wind up having to use aperture priority with the GX7 because of the issue described above in manual mode, and that's the question, does the GH4 in manual exposure mode behave just as described above with the GX7, or does the live preview and the live histogram continue to adjust at all shutter speeds, even those above 1/1000 second in manual exposure mode?
