Default Pro stitching program

I am looking for a professional /semi-professional stitching program.

All I want is the following:

Be able to stitch together at least 9 images

Be able to stitch both upwards, downards and sideways

Save in TIF-format

And i would like to be able to stitch together 16-bits images

I have tried Realviz Stitcher 3.1 and it is supposed to do the above, but I have a hard time doing it, it seems to have some problems stitching together images with other focal lengths than 50mm and 100mm..... (yes I have changed settings in preferences).

Is there a freeware out there that does what I am looking for? Or do I have to pay for it? (that's OK)

Default Re: Pro stitching program

Panorama Tools will do all that, and it is free. PT is also the most difficult to install, to learn, and to use - well worth the effort. One of the shareware (PTGui, PTAssembler, PTMac, each about $35US) front ends will make it easier, but still not simple.

I haven't tried 16 bit images, but have seen reports that they do work with PT.

One of the big advantages of PT is the choice of PhotoShop masked layer output. That allows final tweaking to deal with issues like things moving such as

Multi-image masked TIFF output will give the same advantage if you are using a different editor that allows layers, albeit not as easily.
