I just ordered a new Epson printer, the R1800, for panorama printouts. It will support up to 13" wide media, and also supports roll paper. It is an evolutionary step, and at $549 is quite reasonable on the pocket:

* 8-color Epson UltraChrome Hi-Gloss™ pigment inkset for archival-quality glossy and matte photos
* Fade-resistant photos lasting up to 100-200 years¹
* Output photos up to 13"-wide
* Speeds through a 11" x 14" photo in under 2 minutes
* Creates borderless photos in seven popular sizes
* Prints directly on ink jet printable CDs/DVDs
* Built-in fast connectivity with Hi-Speed USB 2.0 and FireWire®

I understand that some vendors are now custom cutting roll paper, so this one might be the ticket.

did you get your Epson R1800 yet?

I got it last nite from Frys

Installed it and tested its performance.

It seems print faster than epson 2200, according to my tests.

Also tried out Ink Repbulic's continuous inking system with my R1800. Installationwas a breeze. I was up and printing inabout an hour, happy with epson R1800 and Inkrepublic.com CIS.

the tubing ? worried about fouling tubes on the extra piece of plastic , left of the cartridge holders. in the rest position.
