Default Exposure numbering snafu

My Pentax K100D used to record exposure numbers in this manner:


Now all of a sudden they're recorded like this


The I and M were replaced by a single underdash.

Anyone know how to correct something like this?

I believe Simon is correct. This is how pics shot in Adobe RGB get designated.
