Optio S firmware upgrade available ?

Dear Optio S fans,

Is there firmware upgrade available for the Optio S ? I do have version V 1.00 ?

I have noticed that the S4 makes much sharper pics. You can compare S3 and S4 pics here:

So can anyone explain this phenomenon ? Did Steve just get a bad S3 model ?
I believe the lens is the same and the 4Mpix should not make the difference neither. So it must be the Software or an improved circuit. Maybe a better compression algorithm – compression ratio is about the same in both cams. Any suggestions ?


I own a Optio S and I am thinking about bying the S4 to get sharper pics. Don’t care about the 3Mpix

There is no other firmware version than 1.00 for the OptioS.
I can't say if something concerning image processing has been changed in the S4 in hard- or software but in my opinion there are only little changes (e.g. S4 is a bit faster).
