Hi Optio X owners!

I used to own an Optio s4i, but it was stolen. It's time to buy a new camera. I liked my old camera, so I'm now looking at the s4i. But the swivel screen of the Optio X has me very curious.

The type of pictures I take are very "simple", and portability rules over picture quality. I take pictures of things like "me and so-and-so at the zoo", "me and my friends at the bar", "my dog looking cute", etc.

I was thinking that the swivel screen of the Optio X might be handy for those self-portraits I take so often... stretching my arm out and pointing the camera at myself as me and a friend smile. I'm never quite sure if I'm pointing the camera right in that situation.

Does the swivel help in that arm-stretched self-portrait situation?

Does the swivel "get in the way" of taking regular pictures?

How's the shutter lag time? I remember the s4i's shutter lag being so-so... not terrible, but not wonderful.

Is it easy to store the Optio X in your pants pocket? I loved the small size of the s4i. I'm thinking of buying the s5i because of that small size. How do you find the portability of the Optio X?

I'd love to hear any opinions on the Optio X. Looking forward to hearing from you! :-)
