I would second the original suggestion of Zenitar 16mm and Tokina 28-70. I think Tom has the Tokina

Hoe about the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8.

It`s not quite wide but it`s at a reasonable price and it has very good critics


I personally use a standard lens for everything , makes me move around to frame correctly , back to basics and makes you concentrate more on your subject.

Here is a pic taken with my Sigma 30mm f/1.4 indoors without flash , ISO 800 , f/1.7 , 1/250s
