Thank you Cistac for that. I was helped enormously when I first got into Digital photography and just try to repay that kindness by following those helpful people's example.

I've just acquired this superb lens, and I'm already in love with it. The presetting of the aperture range was a nice surprise I've discovered here in the forum! Thank you! This will be useful!
The only drawback in this lens is really the weight, but the quality of the pictures make it worth to carry it all times, also a good tripod...
I'm using it with my Nikon D5000 with an adapter, works perfectly and I've already made a couple of very nice pictures.
Also in my case, the crop factor affects the whole thing and I get some "extra focal distance", not much, but enough to make a difference. As I said, I love it!
Oh, by the way, I just joined the forum...

Big Dawg, how about a few shots taken with this boat anchor? I'd like to see the IQ at f4 and again f8 with the best ISO you can use. I had a Pentax 300mm smc a while back but sold it due to more CA than I could tolerate.
Sony A57 with 18-55 kit lens, Sony A200 and Sony H70
50mm f3.5 Minolta Maxxum macro
24mm f2.8 Minolta Maxxum
100-300mm Minolta Maxxum APO Zoom
70-300 Sony apo G SSM Zoom
