Vivitar 135 f2.8 test
2 Attachment(s)
Well, BigDawg inspired me to take out an old lens of mine, dust it off, and give it a try. Noticed that it was much harder to focus than it used to be (older eyes!), and that I had to set EV compensation up to about +2 to get usable shots. But it sure does give some pretty ones. Tell me what you think!
Here is a Hackberry Emperor butterfly:

And some more Macro shots. Again, would be delighted to hear your opinion on this lens (note that I will be gone for about a week, and unable to respond to your comments until then). Thanks!!

I like them. Did you need to boost the contrast any? I normally shoot with a -1 or so EV with my K10D to get a little better contrast. These are nice ones.

Nice shoot but i think if you send it in a resolution more big will be better.
Especially the second shoot with the butterfly.

That's one sharp lens, isn't it? Impressive! Manual focus takes some practice, I was always used to focusing with a split screen. I spent a bunch of time practicing focusing with a macro lens, and once I got to where I could "see" the focus, it's not that big of a deal.

aren't you glad you did not get of it
what's the serial # of it??

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions!

Bigdawg - for some reason, my K-m underexposes A LOT with thread-mount lenses. I had to set EV to +1 or more to get useable shots. And no, did not do any increase in contrast in PP, just a bit of cropping...

Alex - if I understood correctly, you'd like to see these at higher resolution, but I am limited by what can be uploaded. Glad you liked them though.

Harriet - thanks for the encouragement - I will continue to practice with this as time permits.

Robar - I'm a real packrat ("packmole???"), and rarely trash anything that might be useful someday... The # on the front of the lens is 28222758. What does that mean?
