The lens came in the mail yesterday but I didn't have time to play with it because I had to work all day yesterday and today. But today I got out a little bit early and went to Old Sac to take a few shots. I couldn't stay that long so I didn't take many photos. But here is the best shot that I was able to take with this lens.

Image was crapped to make it look more panoramic like.

I don't think your picture is crap at all! In fact, I rather like it . Seriously, that does look like a panorama and is a very cool effect. There is no exif on your shot, were you using the 10mm widest angle or something else?

Yea the picture was at 10mm. It also captured alot of the ground and sky that I didn't wanted.
Here is the image that is not cropped.
10mm
F/22 @ 10 sec
ISO 200

Superkuma-

It looks like a lens that you will enjoy. I liked your sample and will look for more in the future.

That's a neat shot...it looks like a paper "cut out" with that black background.

I'll be seeking a wide angle zoom in the next year or so...

I'd be interested in comparisons with the Pentax 12-24. There's a big price difference though, yes?

As I have not used an ultra wide lens before, I wouldnt know about the abberations of this lens but does the construction cut down on the negative curves and such most associated with ultra wides? Really want this lens and need to know everything. Essentially.

Thanks,
-Alex

Also, could you talk some about its AF? its supposed to be super high speed and quite if you can believe advertising. Problems with hunting ever?

The lens being superfast? I can't re-call it being super fast or it being slow. I never really notice. Maybe because when I was using the lens I wasn't using to chase a moving subject. I can't see a reason why you would want to use a ultra wide angle lens to chase a subject. Most of my shots are landscape when I use that lens and I use center AF. I never had any problem with focusing with that lens or had any out of focus picture.

The lens being quite? No its not quite, it is as loud as any of my other lens that I have. I believe that only Canon and Nikon has that ablity because of the body. The Pentax K10D will have that ablity with the new lens but Sigma will have to make another version of it with HSM in order for it to be silent.
