I was walking along the bridge at Bolsa chica when I spotted this Western Grebe.

It quickly dove underwater. A few seconds later, it popped up with breakfast.

At one point, I was surrounded by this swirling flock of Stints. It was amazing. They banked and cornered in unison low over the water.

A pair of Bufflehead ducks.

I haven't seen to many hummers lately.

A strongly backlit Great Egret. Always a challenge to get the right exposure.

This would have been a great shot but I clipped the right wing. Ah well. There's always next time.

Northern Pintails are my favorite ducks around here. Their plumage seems so regal.

I've lost count of how many seagull pics that I have. No matter how many though, you just never know when you are gonna capture an interesting pose or behavior.

Jeez! Talk about attitude. Reminds me of some of the looks I got the other day while trying out some street photography.

Royce, you are just getting better and better.
You know, I can not find a favourite, they are all so very good.

That seagull pic is awesome! The way you see the thin DOF on the fence, and how sharp the gull is captured is just great!

I'm starting to get very jealous of these shots you post

You're getting the grip of this! The stints and the landing gull are my favourites. The grebe with the fish is also very nice.

All I can say is WOW! You continue to post awesome bird pictures and I'm running out of superlatives. The landing gull is outstanding and I love the detail in the egret.
