Great shots Roger! Looks like that Bigma is a good match for the k10d. I almost bought one of these a year or so ago, but a lot of the samples I'd seen seemed very soft, so I passed. You've put that myth to bed. The lens performs very well for you. Keep up the great work!.........Don.

All I can say is WOW! Looks like you won't have any problems adjusting to this lens (and am I ever jealous of those outstanding pictures - not sure I'd be able to handle a lens like that).
mtngal thank you for the nice comment and ofr looking. So far I am a happy camper. I am looking at some photos that I took the 2nd time out with the BIGMA and as said I am a happy camper.

You shouldn't have any trouble with it I am a small old person and it looks like I am going to get some keepers.

Roger,

Is this the 50-500mm lens you've been shooting with? Found this on Ebay this evening.

Jay D

50-500mm EX Lens
This magnificent superzoom encompasses all popular focal lengths from the 50mm normal to 500mm ultra-telephoto; a 10:1 zoom ratio which provides tremendous versatility. The use of an apochromatic design, four elements of SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass & a seven group zoom system of multicoated optics enables this lens to provide a high level of performance as well as versatility. A rear focus system insures quick, convenient manual focus and a non-rotating front barrel. This lens also features a zoom lock mechanism to help eliminate creeping of the lens. The mount of the camera is pentax with a canon adapter (original). A magnesium tripod mount helps reduce the weight of this lens while maintaining the strength and rigidity necessary to support its girth.
