I decided to get hold of the same gear that i had when i started out with an slr many years ago. So the final piece of the jigsaw was the 75-205 f3.8 which i have been searching for a while. Finaly won an apparently excellent cond. one on ebay and it is a Kiron.

Can someone explain about the 2x match multiplier. Are they better performance than a normal 2x tc on that lens or are they just fancy talk for a basic 2 x tc?

They say they are better but I've yet to see the difference.

Actually the one I bought came with the matched2x as well as a Focal (K-Mart Brand) 2x Converter. The results were about the same... I was actually impressed at the IQ of the Focal so I converted the other to an extension tube (it was bigger, gave more extension).
