Wow !, it's popped up again, thanks for your input Mike ... when I was interested in this lens originally it was the subject of some silly bidding on Ebay, and that put me off . Since that time, I've collected a few Tamron lenses ( primes and zoom) of similar age, and have never been disappointed in their performance, and their build quality IMO is second to none. I've no experience of Tokina lenses though, you see them much less frequently on ebay UK.
Ed, you're so right, info is just as valid today as it was when that lens was new. ... Jack

I have found this same exact lens in my grandparents closet. Any idea what it is worth?

Ebay is a crap shoot so its hard to say. I've bought things on there for less than five bucks and turned around and sold them for upwards of 100. I used to make quite a bit of money buying and selling lenses after I got done playing with them.

That being said, I would say 30-60 bucks... If you position it right when theres a lot of bidders on an item but not many available, you can make substantially more. I had a 90-230 in a similar series and it was a spectacular lens that did macro focusing. Was very sharp on all ranges when stopped down a few but a bit slow like this one.

Wow !, another hit 5 years on ... is there no end.

I wouldn't like to hazard a guess at value, as NMR says ebay is a lottery ... sell

at the right time and it goes like a hot cake, another time and you get zero bids.

... Jack.

G'day all

Just found this thread - it's a case of 'wow' & deja vu ... I had one of these [Tokina] lenses years ago and it was my standard everyday lens for many, many years

Yes, mine also was K-mount bolted onto a Ricoh body -
My kit back in those days was 2x Ricoh bodies + 4 lenses covering the 24mm to 1000mm range > all gone these days and replaced by 1x superzoom camera, at the moment a Fuji X-s1

Thanks fellas for bringing back lots of pleasant memories
Regards, Phil
