Okay, so here's the deal, my birthday is at the end of this month and I am trying to pick out my present wifey says, "around $200."

So I need some help picking out what would be best. The first thing that comes to mind is the amazing value, SMC-FA 50mm f1.4 (BuyDig.com $163 after$25MIR). Does anyone have any other ideas?

(Please do not post any rediculously priced items)

Could you post a list of your present lens line up, to let us know what gap it should fill? Don't think you can go wrong with the FA 50 mm 1.4.

I would be very happy with an FA 1.4 50mm aswell

Or maybe a good Sigma EF-500 P-TTL flash...

Oh yeah... Current equipment list:

Pentax *istDS
SMC-DA 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6
SMC-M 50mm f/1.7
Tamron XR 28-200mm f/3.8-5.6
Sigma 100-300mm f/4.5-6.7
Vivitar 75-205mm f/3.8 Macro
Pentax AF-500FTZ

----------

Some ideas I have already are:

SMC-FA 50mm f/1.4
Kiron 105mm f/2.8 Macro
Off-Camera Flash Cord
Lowepro Slingshot 200

Feel free to post any ideas you might have...

can't tell you anything about lenses but I can tell you I LOVE my Lowepro Slingshot 300

I was going to get the 200 but opted for the larger 300 and I don't think I'll ever fill the bag... seriously it's HUGE! Think backpack size but with the really cool slingshot feature.

Inn, the 50 1.4 would be good indoors like concerts and nightclubs and family get togethers. That fast lens and auto focus would let you get lowlight photos and fast moving action. Sounds like the one I'd get anyway. Would work real good with the little one too!

now there is one lens I couldn't miss.

I use mine for macro, concert and portrait photography, it's simply an amazing lens.

Only downside is that your wife is going to have to look for one on ebay

LOL, No, she let's me buy my own gifts... lol. That way she is sure it's the right one. I just have to get it approved first

It's a real toss-up between the 50 f1.4 and 105 f2.8... hmmm...
If I can find a FA50 somewhere locally that will probably be the determining factor.
