I think if I want a set of ext tube, I can commission Dawg's chop shop to make a set say $100.

Daniel for a lot less than 100 dollars we can do that. Roy, some folks were born without common sense and too much money. Too bad I never get them bidding on my stuff!! LOL

If you look at the picture of the box and didn't look at the tubes themselves, you might not realize that these weren't A tubes. The box says "auto extension tube K set." Its entirely possible that the person who bid it up that high thinks they are getting a set of A tubes and didn't know enough to realize that the K means K mount, and the tubes pictured don't have electrical contacts.

I think the best sets that sell are the "full auto" ones that work with "all auto focus" cameras.

I saw a few of these for sale, but on further examination, it turns out that they are M42 mount.

Not quite what people would expect.

darren,
there was a set of kenko AF that sold for $120 last week. i see that as a fair price. i even considered it. i just bought a vivitar coupled set for $19 delivered. sold my other set for $40(paid $15). i get a profit and 5mm more ex.

H, look at the tubes themselves. it's obvious there are no contacts. for this price they could have bought an A macro lens.

prices like this make me wonder if i should have listed my A*200 on ebay instead if selling it privately. damaged as it was.

roy
edit: it may have been a collector as these look like a very fine set as far as use goes.

I can say that what "auto" meant in any given circumstances was one of the most confusing things to me when I was newer to this.
