darn, that's insane. I've seen Sigma 105 EX AF macro lenses go for that price...or the Pentax FA-100mm f2.8 macro...

Am I glad I got mine a year ago...

Yeah, it made me weep. As it is the 50 1.7 I won a few weeks ago and then lost in the mail makes me weep, too. I won it for 25 bucks shipped and now I'm watching them go for over 50 bucks. Someone must've been reading this forum!

Yeah, I bid on that one early, and saw quickly that it was going FAR beyond what I was willing to pay.

That's the reason I risked my wife's anger to get mine from Trader Jim at a lower price and it's new to boot.

And here I thought I was paying top dollar for mine from Trader Jim. Makes me happy I talked my hubby into springing for it when I did!

The so-called street price on one is 350 US now....And that is for a new one you won't find. I think Trader Jim got a very good deal on his and resold low for a quicker profit. You can only expect the GOOD old glass to go up--up--up in price in the coming months.

without a doubt dawg. i'm just happy that my kit is full from 28-1000mm in primes and a couple of good TCs.. i don't do a lot of WAs but the 12-24s rectilinears are definately in my mind as ABW. (AWB= addicted but waiting)

Do you have a 1000 mm prime or do you count your 500+2XTC? There is a Pentax 1000 mm f8 up for sale on a Swedish auction site right now. I'll follow it to see where the end price lands.
