jack,
i've seen these go for not much under that. i guess it just depends on how many want it.

''camera$'' has lowered their BIN price to 199usd. these folks seem to me to be running some kind of scam. if you ck their FB, everything is private auctions. however i noticed that they've had sold 2 items TODAY and left FB for the buyers. the thing is tho if you ck what the buyers left for them ''ALREADY''everything was all done in one minute. 1 sell was a minute off.. SCAM???? FB mining???

the f1.2 usually sells here for 3-400usd. their listing is high but i'd expect that in the UK. i have no idea of the reason why.. everything i see in the UK is usually twice the cost here.. would you have to VAT on it as well??

Roy,
I've never seen VAT listed in an Ebay deal, but I don't see how it can be avoided, I suppose I've always assumed it's tied in with the price somehow. What I was getting at with that link is that the price was in excess of 550 USD at the present rate of exchange, somewhat steep to my mind. ... Jack

it is steep. but 3-400usd is also when you can pick up a f1.4 for 50-150.

Hi Guys,

On another note, a used Tokina 80-200 f2.8 AT-X Pro AF missing the hood just sold for $1066 USD +$30 shipping from Japan. The starting bid was $448, which I thought was a bit high, but not outrageous.

IMO, a pretty reasonable price would have been about half to 2/3 (at most)of the final bid, even considering the current market trends. It's a very good lens, but not a great one, and though I have one, since I got a Tamron SP 80-200/2.8 ED Adaptall 2 MF the Tam gets the call much more often, despite the significant advantage of AF for the Tokina.

I sold my FA at around $230 - the cost that I paid for it from B&H 2 yrs ago. To another ebayer in Montreal. And he is happy

OK Daniel,
That equates to about £117 now, what it was 2 years ago I don't know, less I would think, I don't think the £ was as strong then. ... Jack.
