all the time we get new members here and other places asking about the quality and prices of different lenses and diff review sitesand we supply all these people with our favorite sites and knowledge basicly driving up the future price of lenses we are still wanting..
due to this , i think we should start charging 100usd for the info and a guaranty that they will not pass on the info.. what do you think????

naw, lol,:blah:

it would never work.....................

But, we are just trying to learn from your knowledge and expertise in the subject!

I have learned a lot from hanging around here. (It might not have all sunk in yet, though.)The knowledge you all share with us new members is much appreciated in my household.

Thank you. Patty

I don't know about the "wrong one" but every lens I buy certainly encourages me to buy another one!

I don't think our little forum has much effect on Pentax lens prices Roy. For that I blame the quality and value of the new Pentax cameras, as well as the slow roll out of Pentax and third party big glass for this mount.

We made such a big fuss about the Kiron 105mm macro, that while prices weren't even over 100 euros when I bought mine last year, now they're worth 2 or 3 times that much

Same with the 50mm's

From now on let's advise to buy DA lenses only:-)

John, your statement describes me to a "T." I have more than one lens that I paid too much for because I bought the wrong variant of a particular lens. That being said, I have a wonderful collection of shots taken with my f2.5 "Bayonet" 135mm, so I can't really complain, even if I did pay a price more approriate for its more expensive cousin.

The prices were going to go up whether we here said anything or not...Let's not fool ourselves into believing we are the only source of info out there on the world wide web....It is a need for these to go with the K-mount lens that has spurred the price on..It was inevitable with the influx of new owners and the paucity of these lens that the price would eventually spiral upwards....But I like Roys Idea of charging for the info...Then again I'm smart enough to know that folks would not and could not refrain from telling others...I know I couldn't...Sorry Roy...The check bounced but another is on it's way!!! LOL

Roy, the funny thing is that my hubby always asks me why I'm passing on what I know for free. He doesn't have an answer when I point out that I learned it for free around here and all I'm doing is returning the favor (or paying for that knowledge in time to pass on what I've learned).
