Since I had never handled a DSLR before 2007, my LBA can be considered a newly-diagnosed disease, and each expression of it sinks me lower into my checking account. However, two lenses stand out; the first, to even my surprise, was the Phoenix 100-400 AF. It's been wonderful for birding and has served me nicely till I can pinch enough pennies to justify a Bigma. The second is my first high-dollar lens, the DA* 50-135. The quality continues to amaze me.

In the last Pop Photo one of the regular columnists (Herb something or other) was writing about K mount bargains and had high praise for this lens for the price.

Hmmm, I am noticing a pattern here. Roy and I both bought Tamron 300mm f/2.8 lenses last year, but Roy paid much less. Scott and I both bought Tamron 180mm f/2.5 lenses last year, but Scott paid much less. I don't know if I want to keep reading this thread .

I fed my LBA mostly metal manual focus lenses this past year. My two favorite acquisitions would be the Tamron 180mm and a Tokina 100-300 f/4. But I am not telling anyone what I paid . . .

I started selling hibiscus shoots to defend my lens spending this year. I've also bought and resold some cameras and lenses, keeping some and selling the rest. This year has given me an FA 28 mm 2.8, FA 35 mm 2.0, AF Converter F 1.7X, F 70-210 4-5.6, F 28-80 f3.5-4.5, an original Pentax A bellows, a LowePro Lens Trekker 600 AW backpack for the big lens, a tripod, a Pentax waist bag for a body with long lens and a313 Euro/460 USDprofit above that. I'm satisfied with this years outcome, and I wasn't a bit embarrassed to tell my wife about the bottom line...
