Just some more experiments with k10d and 18-55. My daughter Keila and her best friend Daniel.

Apart for composition etc, I'd like some advice on raw development.

I put sharpness at 3 in silkypix, contrast and saturation at 1. Do you think it's a good solution? Should I do different? ( one pictures is overexposed probably, I wonder if I can recover it in raw ).

Hi Lando, those look great!

Since you asked for some advice:

In most RAW programs you can tinker with the curves of the image. That way you can screw back the highlights a little.

Also, I don't know if you're a fan of it, it's really a matter of personal preference, but in the first one you could apply some vignetting to the picture, focusing the attention on the subjects and kind of fading out the background. In most RAW converters you can do this I think. (you can in CS3)


Other than that, those are perfect family photos, you really captured the expressions well

and C* & N* complain about their kit lens.. i've always thought the pentax kit is a very nice IQ lens. there's too much posted to prove it.
i wonder what the new will be like..
