Hey, I gave Brian a few lenses, I'm OK with that... I'm OK with that... Really.

Ira
who's brian??? and how do i get in line??

roy
Brian is goldwing85 and I didn't "give" away the lenses, we traded some items.

Ira

Ira...You know...Trading over or up for lenses is just another strain of the LBA Virus..Called LTA inMedical terms! I still have 5 lenses in the 50mm range and 5 in the 70-210 range.....I'm far from cured!

Well I had five 50mm prime lenses until recently when I sold three of them. I don't even want to count how many zooms also cover this range. I also had three 135mm and three 28mm primes at the same time.

My photography passion started when my wife assigned me the job of researching a better camera for her scrapbooking. Now that the original K100d has finally passed down to her I have the excuse of putting together a second kit for her to use.

I am doing pretty well lately as far as LBA goes: the last lens I bought was way back in October (Sigma 10-20mm).
The major problem I have at the moment is if I should sell my FA 50mm F1.4 since I have (and really like) D-FA 50mm F2.8 macro?!
Oh, I also own DA 70mm F2.4 Ltd which I use instead of FA 50mm for portraiture. I just can't get myself to sell FA 50mm F1.4. Is this a symptom?
I should also mention that I have a FA 35mm F2 which I barely use. At least I had the guts to sell my F 28mm F2.8 this summer.

Once the new lenses come out (Pentax, Sigma and Tamron) I guess my problem will get way worse. Each week I get through various cycles on which lenses to sell and buy. I really need a vacation...:-)

I know and my wife agrees!! I really don't mind as I'm among some very nice company! With certain exceptions ya' know!! And really the Bigma has cured my rabid addiction to a large extent...I think more from a collector stand point...You know every type of Pentax or Asahi 50mm ever made...Then every 135mm ever made... then every 200mm ever made .... then every 300mm ever made ....then every type of Vivitar series one ever made ...... then all the Fa* lenses ever made and then........HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!

I had to laugh when I saw this thread. I can identify. I am NOT in denial. I do suffer from LBA. In my case, I'm still using my good old Pentax K1000, and hoping to "graduate" sometime this year to a Pentax dslr.

In the past couple of years, I have accumulated the following:

SMC Pentax M 1:2.8 28mm

SMC Pentax M 1:3.5 28mm

SMC Pentax macro 1:4 50mm

SMC Pentax M macro 1:4 50mm

SMC Pentax M 1:1.4 50mm

SMC Pentax A 1:1.7 50mm

SMC Pentax M 1:1.7 50mm

SMC Pentax A 1:2 50mm

SMC Pentax M 1:2.8 100mm

SMC Pentax M 1:3.5 135mm

SMC Pentax M 1:3.5 150mm

SMC Pentax M 1:1.4 200mm

SMC Pentax A zoom 1:4 35-70mm

SMC Pentax A zoom 1:3.5 35-105mm with macro

SMC Pentax zoom 1:4 45-125mm

SMC Pentax M zoom 1:4 75-150mm

SMC Pentax A zoom 1:4 70-210mm

I have some other Pentax lenses (I think) stuck in a box somewhere, not to mention a bunch of other K mount lenses. I'm not even mentioning the M42's.

PS In case ya'll can't tell, I LOVE Pentax lenses.

Oy. I just saw how long this list was, and I have to get out of this habit, huh?

Of course I'll have to purchase a Pentax dslr. Can't waste all these lenses!!!:?

:bye:

In my 35mm phase I ended up with (18) lenses (all manual focus) with pk or pka mount. I had (3) Super Programs. When I switched to digital I sold all of these (must have been temporary insanity) but Pentax had not yet offered the Ist D.Now I have the DS &K10D-So far I only have (4) lenses-but another is on the way.
