I wanted to see how shallow the DOF is on the 50mm lens that came with my K1000 years ago. Take a look.

I focused on the logo and the "DVD-R, Shiny" text on the case. I can't beleive how short the DOF is on this lens on 2.2!!! Where it says "Made In Taiwan" on the lower right may only be 3/4 of an inch away from my main focus point! I feel like a nimrod being so impressed by this! :O

Good thing the K100D can adjust the aperture by 3rds. I like the fact that I can use f2.2 and 2.5 instead of 2 and keeping it wide open...even though 2/3 isnt that much of a change.

My 50mm f/2 from my K1000 is still in my arsenal. All those M & A primes were so well made they will last forever.

that's the purpose of of a large ap.. it's really tight close up..
