Needless to say, I have to be real close or at least closer to the subject (in comparison to working with 300mm or longer lens). Sometime it is just not workable at all out in the field. All image uncropped with zero pp.

Hi Daniel,
lovely clarity & colour, looks a top lens. Have you a teleconverter to use with this, ie 200mm plus tc = more flexible combo than just a 300, image quality not withstanding?
thanks.

Thanks Simon,

It seems to be ok in that my Kenko 1.5 works well with AF and the in lens motor. This was taken today with the TC as well. Maybe I am used to the color rendition of the A300mm, I am still undecided about using it long term. Maybe in the event of extreme need, I will use that. Here is one with the TC just taken a couple of hours ago. Only resizing was done with zero pp and zero cropping

That picture with the Kenko TC sure looks nice to me. But I know what you mean about the A300 - it is onenice lens, even if its manual focus. But the 200 + TC looks quite sharp.
