I just scored on some older pentax gear today. I don't know if it is junk or gold.

This is what I got.
Pentax P3n
Pentax SMC-A 50mm f/2
Tamron 90mm f/2.5 SP macro manual lens
Tamrom 60-300mm SP manual lens
Vivitar flash
Pentax manual release

My main interest are the Tamron lens. How good are they? Anyone know anything about it? I didn't get a chance to try them out yet.

I would think the Tamron 90mm f/2.5 SP macro manual lens is a great adaptall lens.

The Tamron 90mm should be a good one. Don't know about the Tamron 60-300 zoom lens. The Pentax 50 f/2 A lens is a keeper as well.

Tamron labell their top of the line professional standard lens SP so they should be excellent lenses - definite keepers.

I have one Tamron SP lens and it is very good.

Definitely not junk !.

The 90/2.5 SP is an excellent macro lensgives 1:2 I/2 lifesize or 1:1 with the accessory extension tube or a Tamron SP 2X Tele-Converter01F.

No personal experience of the SP 60 - 300mm zoom, but they sell like hot cakes on Ebay, and bring good prices. If they came with the AD2 - Pentaxadaptors, check if

they're PKA,that allow operation as an A lens, I regularly see those sell @ £60 - £70 a time on Ebay... Jack

Sorry I have not had a chance to test them out. I been working all week but I have tomorrow off so I will test them out tomorrow.

With the Tamron adaptall lens, I noticed that one of the adaptor did not fit my K100D that well. It did not "click". But it fitted the Pentax P3n without a problem. Both look the same to me but one has a little bit bigger clip on it. It is hard to explain, I will have pictures tomorrow to show you what I am talking about.

I plan to keep the Tamron 90mm f/2.5 but I will well off the rest. I really don't have a need for a manual 60-300mm lens and I have a few Pentax 50mm manual already. I may sell off those extra lens to support this addtion that is coming back again. I thought I was cured.....

As for as how much I got it for, I can't say. I didn't really buy it. I traded my computer building/fixing skill for those gear. I would of charged about $100 for labor if she had to pay me. I also replaced her hard drive with one of my own that I no longer used. So I would say about $150 for parts and labor.

that's a good haul. the 90/2.5 is worth that.

hold onto the 60-300, it's a good performer.. you can pick up an adaptall2140f,1.4x , and a 014f, 2x TC for peanuts.. they only work on the tamron lenses but they do a great job with them..

roy
sorry,

they only WORK on a2 lenses.
