Comes in PK mount, cheap, nice range,quite fast... but it seems to be a rather unknown lens - haven't found informations about it so far.

62mm filter thread is almost all I know about it...

Any info, comments etc. on that lens?

Thanks in advance,
Th.

I found one on ebay. Seems to be a 28 serial number on it so it would be a Komine made lens. Probably made in the 70's or very early 80's.

I had one of these that I gave to my son to use on his K100. It's his favorite lens. Heavily built....outstanding clarity. On par quality wise with the Series 1 70-200...just not as fast.

Thanks for the replies so far. These are sold now and then for a reasonable price and while 250/4.5 certainly is NOT a 300/4 the versatility of the zoom is an added bonus.

Btw. - it's not the one you saw on ebay I was asking about, I can't tell the S/N from the one I had in mind.

So far I am still interested after the first comments... hm.

I got to thinking that I would be able to find one of my son's shots taken with this lens...and after some looking, pilfered this one off his flickr page.

It may not be the same one and I never meant that it was but that is probably a very similar one you are looking at. If not a Komine it could be a tamron or tokina or a kiron. but more than likely not a cosina. any idea of the age?

Ed, I'm not one hundred percent sure since Daniel has the lens in Nashville, but I think you're correct on the Komine manufacture, as indicated by the 28 in the first two positions of the serial number. He often calls when he gets off work at 6am. If he does in the morning, I'll have him check to be sure.

@Dawg
hehe, yes - I understand

@Paul
wow, that looks good!

@All
If it's a #28.... (Komine) I'd buy it right away as the two Komine made Vivitar lenses I own are both very good.

The only complaint from my side is the missing "A" setting, but if the lens is sharp wide open I could live with that.

Kind regards,
Th.
