A few photos taken with the K20D in manual mode using SMC 30mm F2.8 manual lens.

First at Bull Creek:

Second, a rose in bright sunlight. Lens defaulted to wide open F2.8 and 1/3000 sec .

Certainly nothing wrong with that lens! How did you get your hands on such a rarity?

Did you own that lens for these 30 years or did you buy it recently? Either way, that great, old glass works fantastic.

I've had the SMC 30mm F2.8 and 55mm F1.8 manual (non A) lenses as well as a couple of Zooms since about 1975 (whoops admitting my age). All from new and in excellent condition.

I'm getting to grips with settings on K20D. Use in M mode and press the green button to adjust for correct exposure. If you use Av etc, the lens defaults to wide open and likely the photo is overexposed. All in the K20D manual at pp 250-251 and p95. I mention this because it took me a while to get it sorted.

Cheers
