Picked up a Pentax M 135mm prime lens with filter and a well used Program A camera for AUD 25 (about US$16) at a trash and treasure meet. Lens has built in hood to my surprise and optics and mechanicals appear flawless so quite happy with purchase. Lens as per Stan's photo web site is very sharp.

Here are a couple of quick shots about F8, using inbuilt flash on my K20D:

Looks like it's well worth the $16 you paid for it, and you got a free camera, too. Not a bad deal at all. I have a 135mm 2.5 lens that's uncoated (not SMC) that's very sharp. Yours looks better than mine - yours has better contrast and probably won't suffer as much from flare.

I've had 2 of the M42 135mm f/3.5's and both were sharp as a tack.

I've had a Takumar 135mm f3.5 since the early '70's when I bought it new for use on my Pentax S1a and ES 11.

Very sharp lens. Check out your photos. You lucked out...the Tak 135 F 3.5 is a rugged and very fine lens.

You have a win-win lens.

I had that before and posted some very decent and comparable shots (side by side with FA135mm). Somehow some dpreview forum members persuaded me to keep the latter AF lens.

very nice lens.. price is right and there's a niche for it.
I've got the same as H's and it's great.. 1st one i had was a dog tho..
I've also got a super-tack 135/3.5/ M42..
at least it's on consignment with me but i may be stealing it because i just like the build.. they just don't make lenses like they use too..
