Default 3M-5A 500mm F8 Mirror lens

Just received my mint condition M42 mount Russian mirror lens via Ebay. As new condition and delighted with quality from limited testing so far.
Photo below is with K20D, F8 of course, 1/500sec and ISO 800. Hand held.

Will post a few more photos later

And another showing mirror lens characteristics for OOF elements:

Those are great!

I have a box of mirror lenses from the cheapest 500mm/f8 up to a couple of 500mm/f4 and a 1000mm/f13. They are all fun to use but I get a huge number of culls, the good ones really are good though, IMHO anyway.

That looks like one mean kittie. You shouldn't have disturbed him/her. I imagine she's stalking you now to get you back.

Nice lens. I've seen some of those lenses on ebay but always been afraid to bit. Looks like you did good.

It would be great to see a couple of 100% crops when talking about lens performance so if you get a chance that would help people out if considering something similar.

Although the bokeh on a mirror is a little different shall we say I like the result of the last shot and don't find the doubling that distracting.

Hi everyone. I have been away for awhile. Will post some more shots later. Dawg, 3M or ZM is the brand. I think its the original Maksutov factory?? that developed this renown lens/mirror combo for telescopes and cameras.
cheers
