The price looks a bit steep for a third party 70-300mm lens that dim. It look like pre-order pricing for it is at $499.99 right now on amazon.com here in the U.S. You could buy a Nikon or Canon 70-300mm lens with stabilization for only slightly more, and I'm not sure how much the stabilization would be appreciated for Sony and Pentax bodies (since most have built in stabilization, and in lens stabilization usually means larger and heavier for a given focal range/brightness/construction quality).

We'll have to wait and see how well it tests once it starts shipping. If it's significantly better than the existing 70-300mm lenses, it may be worth it to many users (since most of the current "budget" 70-300mm lenses are a bit soft on their longer end, especially at wide open apertures).
