Hello Sarah,

I had purchased a Pentax 18-250 from Ritz, a couple of weeks ago, and it seems to be a very good lens. I did not pursue the Sigma 18-250 OS (Optical stablized) Lens, though I had heard that it actually works better on a Pentax camera with IS (Image Stablization) built in. The price difference of about 200 dollars dissuaded me from buying the new lens, as well as, that there were no reliable reports on this forum, as well as the the pentax forum.

BTW, I am very happy that you took the plunge for the K-X, as it seems to be a great camera for a reasonable price. GOOD LUCK and hopefully the battery issues are just overblown at the DPR, which is known for such nit picking.

Take care and do post pictures with the 18-250 and the K-X.

Best regards,

The Pentax 18-250, in my opinion is a very good lens, when you conside the wide focal lengths it spans. I have noticed that their price does not hold up too well on the used market. That does not matter to me as I intend to hang on to my Pentax 18-250mm lens.
